What can you Recycle?
Paper and Cardboard
•Newspaper, office paper, advertising circulars, magazines, brown corrugated cardboard, egg cartons, pizza boxes (scraps removed) can ALL be recycled.
•Please FLATTEN before putting in the bag
•Plastic shopping bags and bread bags are recyclable
Glass, Plastic and Aluminium/Tin
•Glass – green, brown, blue, frosted and clear bottles or jars, RINSED of residual food and liquid
•REMOVE LIDS from bottles (put them in the recycling too though)
•Plastics – including, yoghurt containers, butter containers, fizzy drink bottles, icecream containers, milk bottles, household detergent containers
•Aluminium and steel cans – includes baked beans, spaghetti, beer, fizzy and pet food cans. RINSE CLEAN first
What you CANNOT Recycle
•Paper or cardboard with wax or plastic covering (i.e. juice and milk cartons)
•Polystyrene
•Glass tableware, mirrors, pyrex, light bulbs, ceramics
•Hazardous waste – broken glass, batteries, paint, oil
•Plastic wrap
•Aluminium foil, sheets and food trays
•Disposable nappies, syringes, food scraps etc
Please Note:
Kaipara Refuse Official Recycling bags are available wherever the blue rubbish bags are sold.
All bags are to be placed on the kerbside by 8am on collection day.
All of our recycling requires the follow to be done as it is all sorted by hand, by the Kaurilands Skills Centre Clients:
· RECYCLING IS TO BE THOROUGHLY RINSED
· NO HOUSEHOLD (NON RECYCLABLE) RUBBISH IS TO GO
